Why Chinese is interesting..
Homework for this week...
Well, I never thought I would say this, but homework for Chinese course is actually interesting.
Like first you learn the basics. Of course that is normal. Then after a while the teachers let you try to make sentences yourself by giving you a topic you´ve just learned, and then you work with that. Last week our homework was to write about our hobbies. For me that is pretty easy. I just watch TV, play badminton, and write on my blog. So that´s what I wrote.
Now, this week, from last weeks topic, (we have the topic one week and the written homework is due Wednesday or Friday the week after), we had to write a sick note. I was the "WHAT? THIS IS WHAT WE LEARN WHEN I WASN´T THERE?" (I wasn´t feeling well and went only 1 day to school.) So today I sat there trying to figure out how to write this thing because I mean, I´m not a doctor, and I sure as hell don´t know how to write a sick note. So thinking about it I thought it should be easy. Just say you´re sick because of stomachache and have to stay at home and rest. That is a sick note your mom would write in your book for you to bring to your teacher. I made it a little nicer though. I put "Hi teacher" first and at the end "- Doctor Wang" So it would seem like it would be a note from the doctor himself. I hope they think it´s funny. I know I would, but I just hope that the sentence structure is right. I don´t know how to write sentences very well, so for me, I only sit there guessing and hoping for the best.
Also a happy note, I had 2 homework assignments handed back to me today. The first one was just fill in the blanks with the right word. The English word was there, so I only had to translate the words. Pretty easy and I got an A+. Very happy about that. Second one was write 80 characters with the direction to your house. It didn´t need to be actual directions, but it had to make sense. I made a few grammar wrongs, but in the end I still got a B! That means I did something good. Like writing the characters properly and the translation of them. I told my mom and as always, she is very proud of me. She believes in me more than I do, and my family in general is the best.
A little off topic, but I really enjoy learning the language, culture and challenging myself to something I thought I never could do. Even though it´s hard, I will never give up. And neither should any of you reading. It´s important to chase your dreams, because then your dreams become reality. Last post I talked about putting effort into something you thrive for. To it yourself, work hard for it and you´ll get what you´ve worked for for so long, and not taking the short cut because it´s not always the easiest and best.
Keep going everyone and one day you might enjoy life as much as I do now.
And to say the least, I know how it feels what many of you are going through. I´ve experienced a lot of shit and from all that I hit rock bottom, but when I was at rock bottom I realized I couldn´t live like that and changed how I see the world and people. I still don´t like people in general, but some people are an exception so I´m all good. And you should find your person as well.
Stay strong and beautiful in your heart and mind!
